Should I let my 13 year old play BitLife?

NOT an appropriate app for ANY age kid.

This app is NOT appropriate for ANY kids of ANY age. The app allows kids to virtually engage in activities that are illegal or very inappropriate for the age level. It makes light of mental health issues and encourages students to make illicit choices. It is full of mature ideas and sexual content.

BitLife

People overreact to this game way too much. It may contain sex but most kids in 6th or 7th grade have already learned about that in school. It's not bad. It's for 11+ though.

Great for teens

It’s a pretty cool game, but it mentions sex and drugs (not in an overtly crude manner, but still too much for anyone younger than 14). It’s fun though and doesn’t talk about anything more than most 14 year olds already know about.

App includes spousal drug overdoses!

My granddaughter downloaded this app onto her father's phone. She accidentally clicked the share app icon. Her grandfather was nearly sent a text that said "My wife just died of a crack overdose! This game is whack." The download app for the game followed that text. So if you are ok with your kids role playing the worst of humanity via Jerry Springer scenarios online then this is a wonderful app for them. Just beware that your contacts may get a rather odd and off putting text from whichever device they are using.

BitLife - OK for middle schoolers

I personally think that it’s fine for kids 11 and up to play BitLife. Drugs, crime, and sex are mentioned occasionally, but you don’t have to engage in any of them in the game. As long as parents are aware of the content and the kids understand the content, it’s good.

Not bad. Too much restriction if you can't pay for a lot of things.

Fun, lots of choices. Minor depictions of legal gambling. Vague and non-detailed text-based sex. No bad language. Some depictions of drugs, alcohol, and addiction. Many ways to play and many different countries to choose to start in or move to. One bad thing about it is that it's very expensive if you want to play it to it's best and ads are somewhat intrusive. I don't like the company but the game is not terrible. You are locked out of a lot of careers and customization unless you pay for 3 different things. Fair warning to parents, lmao. Appropriate for kids ages 12+. Not bad. Some people blow it out of the water, don't listen to them.

Good game but not for younger kids

Let my kid try this. Expected to be asked a few things about sex and drugs, which I am good with as we are very open. But being asked about something in the game ...'would it be weird if your brother gave you a dildo as a gift'... led to this being deleted for a few years. That was a bit too much a bit too soon.

Good for Mature Kids

I love this game, and I think it’s appropriate for any age as long as they’re educated and mature. My younger cousins play it with me sometimes and there are never any issues. The game is also text based, so there’s no need to worry about any super graphic content. Sex and crimes in the game are also completely optional, so you can always avoid any inappropriate content. That being said, there are still some pop-ups here and there about sex or drugs. I think as long as your kid is mature enough to handle this content, anyone can enjoy the game. I even play this game with my dad and he loves it too. My parents allow me to play it and there have never been any issues with it since I’ve been educated on this stuff from a young age. My mom is kinda iffy about the game, but she still thinks it’s cool. Consider getting it for your kid, and if something happens you can always delete it.

Great for teens

One of my friends told me about the game, it turned out to be pretty good. There is some sex and drugs in the game but we learn about this stuff around 7th grade. Besides that the game is great and I would recommed!

Some optional sex

It has some sex in it but it can be avoided, also it’s only text base and doesn’t go much into detail. You can also murder and rob people but again it’s only text base and optional. As long as you know what sex is it’s fine

Most Important Features are Paywalled, Don't Bother Trying

When it comes to violence, sex, and drugs, the game is not that bad as it lets you decide what your character does. But the developers of the game (CandyWriter) are too greedy, and they have been putting all important features behind paywall. Imagine needing to pay for dark mode and other accessibility settings. They also stopped updating the game, and when they do, the updates are terrible and also need to be purchased.

Fun and chaotic life simulator - edgier than the sims

Bitlife is really fun, it has lots of options and gameplay and it’s very fun to kill time. But there is some mature content including murder, drug use, mild swearing (bitch and the like) as well as some minor sexual content such as the option to make love. Considering it’s all text based with a tongue in cheek approach, the app is fine for older kids

Everyone's Overreacting

Alright, look, I know parents are gonna be angry for me saying this. But, this game's actually fine as long as kids are educated. Plus, your kids are probably already swearing or talking about vulgar stuff, so it doesn't even matter anymore. It's no good to restrict your kids fun. Please, kids have the right to play what game they wanna play. Remember this, ok?

Sex Drugs and Violence, but not a lot

overall a fun life simulator game. If your child knows how to behave/ not have unprotected sex, do drugs, or cause violence then it should be fine. if not 13 is probably the next best age if you feel your child is to young to know about drugs ect.

Changed my life... for the worse.

At first, I really liked this game. I played it all the time, and even bought the membership. But over time, it changed me. It made me think in the mindset that money was really the only thing in life that mattered and having friends doesn't change anything. It's made me loose over half of my friends, (in real life), and made me extremely depressed at times. Please, PLEASE don't get this game. Don't let you or your kids go down the same path I went. It's making me uncomfortable just talking about itt. Please, save yourelf and your kids from thi game.

Is BitLife appropriate for 13 year olds?

It's rated for people 17 and older, but the BitLife app is wildly popular among younger users. The Smart Social team wants parents to be aware that players are exposed to many mature ideas while they play, including sex, drugs, and violence.

Is BitLife game OK for kids?

This app is NOT appropriate for ANY kids of ANY age. The app allows kids to virtually engage in activities that are illegal or very inappropriate for the age level. It makes light of mental health issues and encourages students to make illicit choices. It is full of mature ideas and sexual content.

Why is BitLife for 17+?

First, this app is rated for users 17 years and older, this is because the app features many themes that are too mature for younger users. BitLife features profanity, violence, sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and gambling- easily making this game unsuitable for kids.
