Aside from film grain, picture quality is better than I expected on my 70 inch TV. Great story with tons of good hearted lessons for kids. Music is of course phenomenal.

This movie teaches such a good lesson about kindness, positivity, respect, integration and so many positive values. I am just blown....BLOWN away that Disney decided to ban this movie just because some miserable, awful, insufferable armchair warriors on the liberal side created a stink about it. If someone within Disney leadership had actually taken the time to actually watch the movie they would have realized that this movies isn't about slavery or segregation. That this movie is about an endearing character, Uncle Remus, and his positive, meaningful stories and about unity in diversity. Shame on Disney for banning what is one of the best movies that they ever made. As a matter of fact the garbage that they are producing these days is simply unwatchable. From Going Red....to the new Buzz Lightyear Movie....to Onward.....there are so many new movies that are simply nonsense being shoved down everyone's throat. And as a result the public is voting with their dollars thus making these movies fail at the box office. Anyway I digress....Song of The South is probably one of the best Disney movies ever made, hands down. Thanks to the Spain that they brought this back into circulation otherwise this gem would've been lost forever. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 27, 2022 I wanted the English version not the Hispanic version Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 25, 2022 best picture quality so far Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 3, 2022 In 2021, SONG OF THE SOUTH fell into public domain in Spain, and they wasted no time providing the world with the first AUTHENTIC DVD and Blu-ray editions! Little to no work was done to clean the film up, as it has plenty of abberations inherent in old film prints, including end-of-reel markers, but it's still the clearest and best version I've ever seen. As it is a Spanish release, you'll have to select the English language audio track manually. The disc also has optional English subtitles, as well. There are no special features, unfortunately, but the joy of finally having a good quality version of the film is special enough! Luckily, the Blu-ray is region free, so everyone can enjoy it! SONG OF THE SOUTH is a landmark in film history and should be seen as such. Its subject matter has always been a matter of debate, so please view it in its historical context and with an open mind. I had hoped that perhaps Disney released this overseas at some point. That is not the case. It does have the original English language and/or subtitles, and it does work in US players, so it was not a complete waste of money. The previous one on DVD, which is still available, was the same. Because of prevailing times in which this was made, Disney has never issued it. A shame, as this is one of his best, real life action with cartoons of the famous Br'er Rabbitt, Br'er Fox, Br'er Bear, and the stories of Uncle Remus. I saw this in the Cinema in the 1940's, as a child
and loved it. The catchy songs are exceptional from the musical talent of Hollywood.
