 Muse Asia will also stream the anime in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Pakistan. Muse Asia streamed the first cours of the anime on YouTube from April 9 as it aired in Japan. Netflix also streamed the anime in India as it aired in Japan. Muse Asia describes the anime: In an era in which the nations of the world were waging a fierce war of information, Ostania and Westalis had been in a cold war state for decades. The anime premiered on the TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyuushuu channels on April 9 and also ran on Niigata TV 21, TV Shizuoka, RCC Chugoku Broadcasting, and BS TV Tokyo. Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Rurouni Kenshin, Getbackers, 2019 Dororo) is directing the anime at Wit Studio and CloverWorks. Kazuaki Shimada (The Promised Neverland) is designing the characters, and [K]NoW_NAME (Fairy gone, Dorohedoro, Sakura Quest) is the music producer. Viz Media is publishing the manga in English. Shueisha is also offering the manga in English on its MANGA Plus service. Viz Media had added the manga to its app as part of its Shonen Jump subscription in September 2019, and is also publishing the manga in print. A novel for the franchise by Aya Yajima titled SPY×FAMILY: Kazoku no Shōzō (A Portrait of a Family) debuted in July 2021. The manga won first place in the web manga category of Kadokawa's Da Vinci magazine and streaming service Niconico's Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Awards in August 2019. The manga ranked at #2 on the comic rankings for Da Vinci's 20th annual "Book of the Year" list in December 2021. The manga was also nominated for the 14th Manga Taisho awards and the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards' Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia category last year.
