Share details of your own experience with this property 4/13/21 Ok when you enter, nightmare when you move outLived in 395 building for a year. Great location, cooperative leasing office but terrible management company once you try to renew the contract and/or move out. Units were pricey for the real quality (you really understand once you live in...) but after the pandemic they have been a bit more convenient. Great terraces and pool, 2 out 3 doormen were really cooperative but 1 was a lazy nightmare. I did try to proactively propose a lease renewal/negotiate to stay one more year but - despite my patience and my efforts - I had no chance to be treated and incentivized closed to how new tenants are. TL;DR They are good to bring you in but - once you sign - no cooperation on renewing the contracts, even worse when you move out. For renewing, they keep my rent as high as pre pandemic basically, and they just offered 2 months free Vs 3 months free offered to new tenants on way lower rents. Basically it's an OK place to stay one year if do a good deal but don't count on them for a place cooperative to stay longer. The worst situation happened when have been charged $180 for normal wear and tear signs on the floor in front of the entrance, that were there since before we moved in and we never complained / mentioned them in the move-in inspection since the quality of the units it's so low and so old that we considered those things as normal wear and tear for a 30+ years old wood floor. If you really decide do move ahead, good luck! 3/22/21 Verified RenterA spectacular location. Clean environment. Diligent friendly staff who were exceptional during a very tough COVID year. 2/28/21 Verified RenterI would fairly advise living in the gateway apartment. Excellent location with poor to average management. You hope not to have any issues should expect a fair to average response from management if any issues. Over-all experience after living here for approximately 8 months is average to neutral after considering all factors. 2/12/21 Verified RenterWe recently moved from east midtown and love the area. We, of course like the brightness, spaciousness and quietness of our apartment. The Gateway offers many amenities. 1/22/21 Verified RenterGateway is a nice community to live. The location is perfect, the river is a few steps from the exit. The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. The internal spaces are huge! 1/4/21 Verified RenterAlex and Nico with the leasing team are A , they are efficient, thoughtful, and thorough. The friendliness and competence of the doormen quicken the sense of home after move-in. All in all, hard to beat the combination of location, if a home near the River is what you prefer, and the spacious layout of the apartment unit. 12/19/20 Verified RenterWeve been living her for four years and we cant imagine living anywhere else. Theres a great sense of community, the views are magnificent, the apartments spacious and our neighborhood is the best in Manhattan! 12/13/20 Verified RenterGateway is terrific with new tenants, but absolutely horrible with tenants that have been here. 12/5/20 Verified RenterGateway is a wonderful place to live! I love living right on the water. 12/1/20 Verified RenterI moved in 2 months ago and I wish I had not - very glad this is just a lease takeover. There is no sense of community here. Residents and management do not have levels of respect for other people nor the property. 11/30/20 Verified RenterGateway is a wonderful community that feels like a small town in a hectic place like NYC. Fantastic neighborhood, great views and good size apts. Management is very good at addressing problems when they arise. 11/7/20 Verified RenterBeautiful, clean and convenient location with a real sense and delivery of family environment and amenities. 11/1/20 Verified RenterGateway is a great place to live. We have many friends here and thats makes it very easy to stay! 11/1/20 Verified RenterI feel blessed to live in such a well-managed complex. The grounds are lovely, water views amazing, and friendly and responsive lobby staff. Gateway is very close to all the amenities offered by Brookfield Plaza and transportation--perfect for an elderly live-alone resident like me--or for anyone else! 10/26/20 Verified RenterSecure, safe, staffed remarkably well and round the clock dilligence from staff. 10/14/20 Verified RenterGateway residents really pulled together during the Covid 19 surge in March and April and continue to do so now. Working with Gateway management, safety precautions were implemented and enforced in all public areas. Residents came together to support the incredible staff who keep us safe and secure. We rallied in support of healthcare and other essential workers in a show of unity and resolve to beat Covid 19. Thanks to everyone at Gateway for their kindness and generosity to each other at a very trying time. 10/10/20 Verified RenterManagement office is not helpful at all. Some of the front desk people are awesome, others are terrible and can never find packages that sit in the delivery room for days. Laundry facilities consistently break. 9/28/20 Verified RenterGateway has done a fantastic job with adjusting to the evolving pandemic. Every effort has been made to keep the residents and staff safe. Leasing, management, and doorman staff are all very friendly and professional. They seem to really value resident feedback. 9/28/20 Verified RenterGateway is a fantastic place to live which is why we have been living here for 35 and 38 years respectively. There is nothing like the river views. We can see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island (which we consider to be the two most powerful symbols of United States values), and the Verrazano Bridge from our bedroom window, and 1 World Trade Center from another room. The landscape maintenance of the area is phenomenal, since it is performed by the Battery Park City Authority rather than New York City. The maintenance staff is prompt and superb and has worked here for a long time. People are helpful and friendly. Noise level is extremely low since we are far removed from the traffic. We actually hear birds in the morning. Management is responsive, and we feel cared for. 9/11/20 Impossible to sleep properlyYou pay a huge amount of money and it is like living on a construction site where hammering and drilling start basically every day well before 8am. When you ask for assistance from the management, they don’t really care. Only the pandemic kept us here, we cannot wait to leave. 9/8/20 Verified RenterThe location is spectacular and the layout of my apartment is perfect for what I was looking for. It's a really wonderful community! 9/8/20 Verified RenterWe've been tenants since 1982. I guess that could show good experiences. 9/3/20 Verified RenterWe are long-time residents and hope to continue living here. 8/26/20 Verified RenterWe love our neighbors and our incredible staff! We appreciate how Gateway kept us informed during the pandemic and worked hard to comply with all of the key public health measures to stop the spread of Covid 19! 8/21/20 Verified RenterAsking for an over 15% rent increase during a global pandemic seemed fairly unreasonable and unacceptable to me. 8/19/20 Verified RenterGateway is very unique in location, set-up and services. Directly on the Hudson with a pleasant riverside promenade that extends north upto Tribeca and south to Battery City Park. The North Cove Marina restaurants and BPL minutes away and a Grocery store just outside the complex. A secure gated community with extraordinary services. Its like renting an apartment in a hotel, with super helpful doormen, onsite swimming pool and Gym/Spa. Maintenance services are fast, of quality and with a smile. Thank you for making life enjoyable and very much so during the COVID crises. 8/13/20 Verified RenterGateway is a wonderful place to live. The buildings are well maintained. Management is very attentive. Its a stress-free place to call home. 8/7/20 Verified RenterI love living in gateway plaza And that is why I have remained for thirty three years . Great for raising a family and for getting older happily . 7/28/20 Verified RenterWe are very happy living here. Keep rents affordable so Gateway can be a model to the community. 7/18/20 Verified RenterGateway Plaza is truly a community! Apartments are larger than average and the location cant be beat. I always feel a sense of calm once I cross the highway into Battery Park City and Gateway Plaza. 7/12/20 Verified RenterGateway management has led the pandemic closures and reopening so well! We are very grateful to the precautions taken and that we can reuse some of the outdoor amenities safely. We love having a lawn and roof garden terrace. 7/7/20 Verified RenterWe love living at Gateway Plaza. The views are stunning and different every day. The community is great. The management and staff are excellent. We have lived here for over 35 years. 7/6/20 Verified RenterWe live in a true community. Other residents have become our friends and nearly everyone is friendly. We love the people who run the front door and the maintenance is extremely quick. 6/28/20 Verified RenterI have loved loving at Gateway because of the friendly staff and residents. 6/18/20 Verified RenterThe maintenance response has always been exceptional. Always prompt attention to any issue and they communicate by email or call you right way. They are excellent! 6/6/20 Verified RenterWhenever I have had an issue arise, your response was extremely quick and well resolved. Your maintenance staff genuinely want to help, and are pleasant to work with. Maintenance aside, I appreciate Management's efforts to keep the Gateway community well informed, which helps to tamp down the negativity and distress over the grim times we are now living in. THANKS!!!! 6/2/20 Verified Rentersafe; secure neighberhood with natural borders that protect area 5/8/20 Verified RenterThey say the first three rules of real estate are location, location, and location. Well you can't beat the location at Gateway. When my wife and I first started looking to relocate to NYC, we planned to check out many buildings all over the city to come to a decision. Gateway was our third stop and wound up as our final stop. She fell in love with the location and said there was no need to look anywhere else. We've been at Gateway going on 4 years now. 5/8/20 Verified RenterGateway is a wonderful community near the river with beautiful gardens and parks, great neighbors, and is much quieter than most parts of NYC. 4/30/20 Verified RenterI have been a resident of Gateway since 1983. There has a significant evolution of the life-experience here over these past 37 years... Moreover, in the past 10 years, there has been a vast improvement in the facilities, and amenities offered by management. 4/29/20 Great place to live. Terrible management companyThe location is great and while they lull you in with a seemingly decent offer, the moment your lease expires, expect at least a 10% increase in rent, sometimes more. I've never seen a management company nickel and dime their existing tenants so much. 4/24/20 Verified RenterGateway is a special place. Everyone who lives here knows it ... from the residents to the staff to management. It is far more than just a place to live. It is a wonderful experience, like living in vacation in a resort. How good is that? 4/16/20 Verified RenterDue to decreasing mobility issues, I recently had to sell my condo and move closer to destinations such as Brookfield Place, Vesey Street restaurants and the like. I had lived in my condo for 20 years and had great supportive relationships with the building staff. Although I have friends at Gateway, I was concerned about moving into a building where I knew no staff. I needn't have worried. Both management and the staff at 375 has been very friendly and supportive right from the get-go. The Leasing agents went far beyond lease-and-forget. They are always there for me to help resolve any issue that might arise. The I love the location and the attractive well-maintained grounds. I'm so glad I landed at Gateway. 4/1/20 Verified RenterThe frontline staff here is top notch: They all take good care of us! 3/20/20 Verified RenterGateway is perfectly located, apartment sizes are generous-particularly for this area and theres a real sense of community here. Our family loves living here! 3/9/20 Verified RenterI am very happy with both Management's and Maintenance's quick response whenever a need arises. As an elderly resident living alone, I feel well-cared-for and safe here at Gateway. In addition, I feel that I've made good friends with your great leasing agents, Nico and Kiros, who are always there for me if I have a question. And, last but far from least, our lobby staff in 375 are both caring and personable... Moving here was a GREAT decision on my part. 2/27/20 Verified RenterMaintenance came right away and said to contact them with any other problems if needed. 2/26/20 Verified RenterGateway is like a community of good people who look out for one another. 2/26/20 Verified RenterNice grounds, more attention to the 400 building than the other buildings. I really like the doormen, Paul and David. in my 100 building. 2/12/20 Verified RenterGreat service fast and friendly, and really liked the ease of assistance from the staff.
