Season 24 of Big Brother is currently underway and there's already more drama than we anticipated. One celebrity contestant has dropped out, the first house eviction keeps on being moved to a later date and we're sure there's a lot in store for fans of the CBS reality show.

Now, you may be aware that new episodes of Big Brother air during various times of the week (Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET, Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET). The weekly episodes air alongside a 24-hour live feed, which gives a close-up look at contestants' every move. While this week's Wednesday episode premiered as per usual, fans may notice the show is missing from the CBS official schedule, which means Big Brother will not be airing tonight.

When is Big Brother coming back to CBS with a new episode?

Big Brother is returning with a new episode on Sunday, July 24 at 8 p.m. ET. The popular reality show will resume its schedule and feature some twists. If you happened to hear that Big Brother was coming back to CBS sooner, you aren't wrong. But there was another change of plans.

'Big Brother' on Paramount+

Because Thursday's episode was meant to feature the first house eviction, CBS initially decided to move its next air date to Friday, right before the season 2 premiere of Blood & Treasure. But as E! reported, the network chose to make the house eviction episode into a two-hour event over the weekend instead. Despite all of this, it won't be too long now before fans find out who will be eliminated from the competition house.

So, why the schedule change anyway? CBS will be providing primetime coverage of the January 6th public hearings held by the House select committee. But while you wait for a brand new episode to air, it could be a good time to rewatch the Big Brother from the beginning to refresh yourself on how all the drama ensued in the first place.
