  • Travis is still at the center of, well, everything, on Big Sky. Last week, he killed Bob to prove his loyalty to Ren (and to prove he wasn’t a cop, as Bob suggested). This week, he brought Bob’s bloody corpse to Jenny to prove that he’s… I’m not sure what, but it was so Jenny wouldn’t have to go looking for Bob’s dead body. “As a gift to you, my cop-friend with benefits,” Travis seemed to say, “I present this lifeless body wrapped in a tarp. Wanna bone?”

Travis claims he has no idea who actually murdered Bob, that he’s just there to dispose of the body, but he’s not acting vry convincing. Jenny doesn’t find any of Travis’s antics charming anymore and she’s pretty sure he’s losing his grip. Travis is like, fried right now, full on Kramer-insomnia-thanks-to-Kenny-Rogers-Roasters wild-eyed breaking point. She tells him that she met with his handler who told her all about how Travis has it out for the Bhullars because they killed the woman he loved, Kate Garza, who was Verr Bhullar’s mistress-turned-informant, and he looks shaken up. Jenny tells him, “Just go bury your body, I can’t do this anymore,” and she drives off.

After Jenny leaves, Travis disposes of the body (I assume) because he does back to the Bhullars’ where Donno is waiting for him. If Travis really did just bury a body in the woods, his hands would be dirty, Donno says. He’s one to know! And *checks Travis’s hands* they are! Phew! But then Donno pulls up a video on his phone: it’s the security camera footage of Travis stabbing Bob in the neck. Donno shows it to Travis, explaining that if Travis ever tries to hurt Ren, he’ll kill him. Oh, and I’m sure he’ll release that video too.

Okay so now that Ronald is dead and Scarlet is… wherever, and those pesky teens who stole all that money are back in school, Big Sky is introducing new people, like a dead guy named Mason Ford. Mason’s sister, Hayden, is sent out to look for him after he failed to return home the night before, and when she goes out looking for him, she finds his lifeless body and a bag of Ren’s synthetic pills in his hand. When Jenny arrives to the scene, she realizes she knows the kid and his whole family. When she goes to their home to discuss the details of his death, they’re filled with grief but when she asks if he ever used drugs, the grief turns to rage and the dad goes off on her. He’s convinced that it was murder, and Jenny’s not investigating that hard enough, and says there’s no way their kid used drugs.

Jenny finds Mason’s sister Hayden later and tells her that Mason died of an overdose, and Hayden pulls the drugs that were in Mason’s hand from her fanny pack. Hayden explains that Mason didn’t usually do drugs, so she doesn’t understand what he was doing with them, but yeah, she knows it was the drugs that killed him.

Over at Ren’s luxury AirBnB, she and Jag are still concerned with what their father and Alicia are playing at these days with the family business. One night as Ren is getting ready for bed, she sees someone outside and grabs Jag and her gun to go investigate. It turns out, it’s their father Verr, reciting a poem out in the yard. Maybe your dad does that, but Verr Bhullar does not do that. They’re like, uh, dad? And he’s like, “It’s time we talk.”

Verr tells his children that he’s so keen to get out of Canada and start up the business in Montana because one of the family’s old associates stole all of his money. He tried to kill this man, Vikram, but Vikram got away. And so, the Bhullars are in danger because now Vikram and his other associates want revenge.

“Are they going to come after us?” Ren asks.

“If they do, God help them all,” Verr tells her.

Donno for one is very afraid. As he sears a pot roast, he tells Tonya that he’s got a bad feeling. About Verr, about Travis, about basically everyone in Ren’s orbit. He asks Tonya if she’s loyal and she replies that yeah, of course she is. But Donno tells her that she better be ready to kill for Ren to prove that. Whatever happened to Be Fri and St End necklaces?

The show’s not only introducing new faces his week, but an old friend is finally back too: Jerri! In the time since we last saw her, Jerri’s mom died, and she’s grieving the loss with her once-estranged father who invites her to come live with him. Jerri explains that she has a life now in Helena, and next thing you know, she’s back in the offices at Dewell & Hoyt, where Lindor is also settling in and recovering from his wounds after apprehending Ronald. (In case you’re wondering where Cassie is these days, Kylie Bunbury gave birth at the end of last year, so Cassie and Kylie are both taking some much-needed R&R right now). When Jerri left town, she and Lindor shared a sweet departing kiss, but in the time since, he’s gotten closer to Cassie and they even finally went on a date. Over beers, Jerri and Lindor catch up and he admits that he and Cassie have formed a relationship. Jerri’s not surprised, but she asks, “So where does that leave us?” That seems to be something nobody’s sure about.

Back at the sheriff’s office, Sheriff Tubb tells Jenny that Mason’s overdose was caused by a synthetic opiod that’s cut with something that increases it’s potency. Jenny knows that the Bhullars are responsible but she needs to find a way to prove it.

Ren is going through a bit of a crisis after learning that her father has a target on his back, and she has a heart to heart with Alicia who tells her that the move to Montana was to keep him safe, but it’s also to begin the process of transferring the family business over to one of the Bhullar kids. Ren knows she’s more capable than Jag, but her father is old school is thinks the job should belong to a man. Alicia tells Ren that she knows she’s the smart one and encourages her to prove herself to her father.

As Ren contemplates things, Travis shows up. Ren explains that she’s not sure what Alicia’s deal is, and Travis tells her he’s done some digging, and he can confirm that Verr has poor taste in women, and he rattles off a list of her father’s old girlfriends he’s dug up, including his old flame Kate. He suggests that maybe the same thing will happen to Alicia that happened to Kate, and as Ren asks “What happened to her?” Donno interrupts to tell them that Jenny is there. Is Travis planning to kill Alicia? His face seems to imply yes.

I’m a big fan of Jenny-On-A-Mission, she’s so purpose-driven and fierce in her ripped Pink Floyd tank top! She confronts Ren about Mason’s death telling her, “You just killed a kid.” Ren hilariously is like “Wait, wha happen?”

Jenny explains that Ren’s drugs were found on Mason and then Travis of all people shakes her down and tells her she needs a warrant to be there and Jenny heads to her car. But Ren is not okay. “I didn’t come all this way to push tainted product,” she tells Travis and Donno, and she sends them off to investigate who’s tampering with her supply.

Meanwhile, Jenny is in the midst of a thousand-point turn out of Ren’s driveway and notices one of the trucks they’ve been using to transport the drugs, and she hops out to take a look at the rest of the property. That’s where she finds a door to the basement drug lab (unlocked!) and she goes in to take a peek and discovers so many drugs just lying around, and as she dips her hand into a literal candy jar of pills, she’s knocked out by none other than Dhruv, Jag’s bodyguard, who tells her “Bad move.” Seriously, Jenny, what were you thinking?
