• The syrup was prepared by cooking molasses in water 
• The prepared syrup had to be left to cool down and left undisturbed for 3 hours
• Once it completely cooled down, other essential ingredients were added like sassafras root, wintergreen, sassafras bark or oil).
• Then the yeast incubation was added and the beverage was left for fermentation.
• The beverage was allowed to be fermented for 12 hours and then it was strained and prepared for secondary fermentation.
• The prepared beverage contained less than 2% alcohol.

How ‘Not Your Father’s Root Beer’ – the brand come to existence? 

After the unexpected fall of root beer due to the ban by the government, it began to sell in the market with the flavor sassafras and safrole-free sassafras extract.

In a very short span, the Not Your Father’s Root Beer brought a boom to the alcoholic brewing industry. The brand collected 7.2 million dollar sales in the first half of 2015 and registered its name in the 30 top-selling craft beers.
