Amazon can you transfer gift card balance

There are certain restrictions with the use of Amazon.com.au Gift Cards, such as not being able to purchase other gift cards using your Amazon.com.au Gift Card and not being able to transfer them to another account once the claim code has been redeemed.

If you have trouble applying your gift card balance to an order which includes other gift cards, please try removing the gift cards from the order and purchasing them separately via a different payment method.

Amazon.com.au Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase, or applied to any order containing certain ineligible goods and services such as collectible coins, subscriptions or other gift cards.

Your Amazon.com.au Balance and your Gift Cards may only be redeemed toward the purchase of eligible goods and services on Amazon.com.au and its associated applications. Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd. or its affiliates ("we", "us", and "our") may provide Gift Card purchasers with information about the redemption status of Gift Cards that they purchase.

Neither your Amazon.com.au Balance nor your Gift Cards may be applied to the purchase of products at www.amazon.com, www.amazon.at, www.amazon.com.br, www.amazon.ca, www.amazon.cn, www.amazon.de, www.amazon.es, www.amazon.fr, www.amazon.in, www.amazon.it, www.amazon.co.jp, www.amazon.com.mx, www.amazon.nl, www.amazon.co.uk, or any website other than the website(s) listed in Section 1 above. Your Amazon.com.au Balance cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards. Gift Cards cannot be reloaded, resold, transferred for value or redeemed for cash, except to the extent required by law. No portion of your Amazon.com.au Balance may be transferred to another Amazon.com.au account.

The goods and services eligible for purchase with your gift card are subject to change from time to time. You'll need to provide a credit card, debit card, or other valid payment method to pay for the order if you have ineligible items in your Shopping Cart. Amazon.com.au Gift Cards can't be transferred to another account once the claim code has been redeemed. Amazon.com.au Gift Cards aren't returnable or refundable for change of mind, except as required by law.

Please read our Gift Card Terms and Conditions for a full list of rules and restrictions.

There are certain restrictions in connection with the use of Amazon.com Gift Cards. If you engage in these activities, Amazon.com may prevent you from claiming or redeeming gift cards, or may take further action on your account without a refund. You may not:

  • Sell or exchange a gift card for cash or for any other prepaid payment instrument.
  • Give or receive a gift card as payment for goods or services off of Amazon. A non-Amazon entity or individual asking for Amazon.com or third-party gift cards as a payment method for goods or services may be a scam. See our common gift card scams page for more details.
  • Purchase a gift card from an unauthorized third party as we cannot guarantee that they are legitimate.
  • Use a gift card as payment for orders placed for commercial reasons (i.e. sourcing inventory online). That is, you may not use our Amazon.com Gift Cards to fulfill sales or fund purchases that you are making with the intent of reselling or exporting the goods or services.
  • Use a gift card to purchase certain ineligible goods and services such as collectible coins or other gift cards. The goods and services eligible for purchase with our Amazon.com Gift Cards are subject to change in our sole discretion. You'll need to provide a credit card, debit card, or other valid payment method to pay for an order that includes any ineligible items.
  • Transfer a gift card to another account once the claim code has been redeemed.
  • Redeem a gift card to an account if you are not the intended recipient. An example of when you are the intended recipient is if you received the gift card as a gift. You are not the intended recipient if you fraudulently deceived the purchaser into giving or selling you a gift card (even if they willingly do so at the time of transfer).
  • Use a gift card for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

The list of prohibited activities above is not intended to be a complete or exhaustive list of all prohibited activities. Engaging in any activity that, in our sole discretion, disrupts, or is harmful to our customers, reputation, goodwill, business, or operations is prohibited. Engaging in any prohibited activities, or using an Amazon.com Gift Card in violation our Gift Card Terms and Conditions may result in our taking action(s) against you, including, but not limited to, preventing you from claiming or redeeming gift cards, revoking gift card balances, or closing your account consistent with our Gift Card Terms and Conditions.

Please read our Gift Card Terms and Conditions for a full list of rules and restrictions.
