Friends and Big Bang Theory similarities

The casts of Friends and The Big Bang Theory made the dream of every sitcom fan come true earlier this week when they posed for one epic photograph together. The TV stars (minus Matthew Perry) were gathered for an NBC tribute to prolific director James Burrows when the picture was taken. But aside from bringing two of our all-time favorite casts, the photo also got us wondering: Have you ever noticed just how similar Friends and The Big Bang Theory actually are?

You may not have realized it in the past, but the two hugely popular sitcoms actually have a lot in common. In fact, almost every character on The Big Bang Theory is at least a little reminiscent of a character from Friends. This isn’t a bad thing — we love both shows and casts and each series has made its own impact on the TV landscape. Still, it’s fun to see all of the parallels between each show’s main characters and trust me, there are plenty to choose from.

Case in point? Penny and Leonard’s relationship is actually eerily similar to Ross and Rachel’s. Just think about it: Both revolve around nerdy guys who harbor longtime crushes on the pretty, popular blonde girl in their lives and eventually end up capturing the girls’ hearts. And they’re not the only ones who bear striking similarities. Chandler and Raj both share a complete inability to talk to women, while Monica and Amy each drive their respective friend groups a little crazy with their neurotic personalities.

And don’t even get us started with Sheldon’s “Soft Kitty” and Phoebe’s “Smelly Cat”!

1. A beautiful blonde joins in and a geek has a crush on her

Friends started with the amazing shot of Rachel Green intruding on a few shots of the cast being amusing in Central Perk while clad in a wedding dress. After leaving her wedding and arguing with her dad, Rachel proceeded to move in with Monica. It immediately became obvious that Rachel is Ross’s lobster. Then again, The Big Bang Theory starts with Penny moving in inverse and Leonard quickly succumbing to her. He, in any case, mooned over Penny for two seasons before Penny started their relationship. Their babies would sure be smart and beautiful

The will-they-won’t not they relationship between Ross and Rachel finished in Rachel getting off the plane, though The Big Bang Theory split their relationship just to get them back together.

2. Rock, paper, scissors with a twist

In The One with the Late Thanksgiving Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, and Joey play a round of rock-paper-scissors to conclude who will enter the fury of Monica first. Joey includes fire along with everything else except is before long wasted by Phoebe’s water bomb, leaving Phoebe as the possible victor. To choose which program they watch, Raj and Sheldon play rock-paper-scissors with the wind in The Lizard-Spock Expansion. 3. The cat songs

Smelly cat is one of the most famous elements of FRIENDS. Phoebe wrote this song about a grandmother dying. While the Soft Kitty melody of The Big Bang Theory is particularly extraordinary, a tune about a cat draws matches with Smelly Cat. Sung here at whatever point Sheldon is sick, Soft Kitty is nearly just about as snappy as Smelly Cat.

4. “You’re in my spot.”

They once thought he was dead (whereupon they poke him with a huge jabbing gadget). Howard’s mom is portrayed as being huge with a mustache and has been seen, momentarily, in a couple of the latest scenes. Gags about her weight have repeated all through the whole run of The Big Bang Theory.

We never saw Ugly Naked Guy and Debbie Wolowitz in flesh.

6. The hospital scenes

Joey filling out Ross’s hospital form was a feature of season nine. He was fairly useful to Ross after making him break his thumb, however, the image of the dinosaur wasn’t actually fundamental. Sheldon endeavoring to assist Penny with a trip the delegated magnificence of The Big Bang Theory. This scene is unforgettable.
