“Where can I find Irish Death?”

It’s a question we’re going to answer because many people out there in the beer universe have the same question.

Iron Horse Brewery’s beer is distributed in Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Montana and parts of Oregon. If you don’t live in one of those five states and have somehow developed a taste for our beer we suggest you move to one of those states immediately. Alternatively, you could order a bulk load of Irish Death from us, fly to Washington, rent a moving van, fill it with said ordered Irish Death, and drive it back to wherever you live to be consumed happily ever after. We don’t blame you if you don’t want to share with your friends after all that effort.

If you do live in one of those 5 states and want to know where you can find the latest holiday seasonal or where Irish Death is on tap at the moment use this handy dandy beer finder app. Select the beer you’re looking for. Input your zip code. Hit search and voila, some searching is done without the hassle of you having to call every beer store in the area.

Note: we advise you to call the location before riding your tricycle over to pick up a sixer of double rainbow, now available in cans, because those locations reflect availability within the last month and may be out of stock.

If you absolutely still can’t find a beer (that’s in season), and want to work with IHB to get it in a bar near you in 1 of those 5 states we listed, you can email with your desperate plea about why you need said beer in your local bar and how many of your friends you will persuade to buy it.

No. Legally we cannot ship you beer. As much as we’d love to send a box of beer to your doorstep, along with other random surprises like kazoos and a live iguana, we would get in serious trouble and probably never make or sell another bottle of beer again. That would mean about 55 hardworking people would be out of jobs, and even sadder, out of beer. A world without Irish Death is not one we want to experience. So we’ll keep the kazoos for ourselves.

Some of our fans have had success in convincing beer delivery sites such as: Malt and Vine, Tavour or Bring on the Beer (defunct) to carry our beer in bottles. If you don’t see what you’re looking for online you can call those companies and tell them how desperate you are to get Irish Death shipped to you and how they would make all your beer dreams come true if they made it happen. And then repeat the process but with a slightly different voice so they think lots of people are requesting Irish Death. But seriously, we are grateful to those services for helping our fans get our beer in faraway places.

#3 Where’s the most remote place I can find your beer?

Good question. We’re not 100% sure how to respond. Do you consider a small hole in the road in Montana to be the most remote? Or do you think a small town in Alaska near the Bering Sea is more remote? Either way we’ve got it covered. You can find our beer at the Big Bull Bar and Grill in Winston, MT (population 147). You can also find it at the Alaska Commercial Value Center or the Nome Liquor Store in Nome, AK, which is where the Iditarod ends if you know what that is.

Yes. But making plans is the first step toward having them fail. Or maybe sharing your plans is? Either way we’re not telling. YET.

My longest outstanding question is….when are you bring back my all time favorite beer, the BLACK IPA????

I know you are focusing on other beers to please the masses but this really is the best beer you’ve ever made. Please, I’m begging you, BRINNG IT BACK!

Brian, we hear your question, and want you to know that you are not alone in this wish. We have confirmed there is at least 1 other person out there feeling the same way about Black IPA because he has messaged us multiple times on snapchat about it. Maybe you two could get together and start a petition that would eventually force us to bring it back. Maybe we could start a fight club event to replace the Dirtbag Carnival and could bring it back as an event exclusive beer. Or maybe we can get the local roller derby team to be the official sponsor of bringing back Black IPA.

It’s not on the slate for 2018, but that’s not to say it won’t ever come back. What about that beer made it your all-time favorite?

I absolutely love, love, love, love the Irish death beer. I first had it at the Salmon House Restaurant off Lake quileute which is 3 hours away from where I live in Camas. I mentioned the beer to a friend of mine and during my Labor Day search and rescue weekend training, he surprised me with a whole case of your delicious magical beverage… Please do not ever change your recipe! There are not very many beers that I absolutely irrevocably love, and Irish Death is way up there at the top for me.

I live in Minnesota, and I need Irish death back in my life. Went to my folks in Washington and my best friend turned me on to it. I dont really drink anymore because I’m tired of light and crappy tasting beers.

I dont care who I have to kidnap, see if you cant get some Irish Death to west side liqour in St. Cloud and I’ll sacrifice a black chicken to the pagan gods for you!

I had first Irish Death a few years ago,got addicted,cuz first taste was free at that little bar in Deer Lodge,Montana. Couldnt find it after,ordered a case of quarts from some supplier. I think it would do well in Vegas,baby! +, i live there, a thousand miles from your delicious concoction😢. I gave your co.name and irish death request to LEE’S discount liquor in southern Nv. ,they are the largest liquor warehouses in lower Nv, seller of the year like 20yrs in a row~. I hope to rekindle my love for irish death soon!

ELLENSBURG, WA — Iron Horse Brewery produces a beer you may have heard of that will be available in six pack 12oz cans spring of 2016. Quilter's Irish Death is already available in 22oz bottles and draught but this will mark the first time the flagship beer will be produced in cans.

A 12-ounce can of Irish Death has 256 calories and 22 carbs. From a calorie perspective that's the equivalent of 6.4 thin mint cookies or 3.2 medium sized Fuji apples.

What is an Irish death?

Irish Death is our flagship beer, a dark ale with hints of chocolate, which we lovingly refer to as beer candy. At 7.8% ABV and 12 IBU it's smooth enough to session but too strong to do so. And don't even bother trying to classify it because we haven't been able to after all these years. But it's more than that.
