Do not use the ammunition below it's not very accurate in the Rossi RS-22 M Semi-Auto Rifle. How ever it works well on the Single Action Revolver .

I have found the CCI 40 Grain Maxi-Mag 22 WMR HP VARMINT to be the most accurate shooting 50 yard groups with in 1/2" groups.

Looks pretty decent and not a bad price either. Saw where my Ruger American 22 magnum now has an M.S.R.P. of $439 up from $339. Not too crowded a field with 22 mag. out there in semi-auto. Savage has the A-22 mag. and maybe CZ. Mine getting about the same group with the CCI H.P. 40 grain at 50 also. Have found the Hornady 45 grain very accurate also with tight groups. Likin the Vortex I slapped on it too.

He needs to understand the mags would be $12 if they sold as much as magpul AR mags. Economy of scale. Nice rifle though.

Our Rural King has these in stock. 239.99 and right now 10% off so about 216 plus tax. I have been saying I am going to buy one of these since they showed up.

Wow that is cheap! Nice they figured out the power curve issue with the 22 mag. I know Savage uses the delayed blowback on the bolt with the A-22M.

Looks nice and I love the .22 magnum round, but I'll stick with my bolt action JM Marlin.

So what did Rossi do to get .22mag to cycle reliably?🤔

Maybe copied Savage A-22M bolt but have not read a review. I wish Ruger would take another crack at that 96/22M semi. Like to have a semi with walnut in that round.

I like the Ruger rotary magazine 10 shot Magazines and in a .22 Magnum that would be awesome Ruger made a 10/22 Magnum but it malfunctioned a bunch and it was a total failure until the Savage A-22 Magnum and it had an accuracy problem with anything other than the CCI A22 MAGNUM 35 GRAIN Game Point a shallow hollow point at a smoking 2100 FPS . It's said to be extremely accurate. I am thinking ROSSI / TAURUS Copied the savage design I just wish they used a rotary Magazine as well the magazine is Huge for only a 10 round magazine.I found the .22 Magnum CCI 40 Grain JHP Varmint at 1875 to be extremely accurate.I use the crapy Winchester Dyna Point 45 grain 22 MAG Bulk ammo in my .22 Mag single action Revolver. It's very slow for .22 Magnum.

The only semi I heard of that fed those Winchester Dynapoint 45's was the Grendle P30 pistol.

One .22 mag semi rifle that functioned well out here in NWArctic was the HK-300 a villager up north had.
The guys that I knew said seeing it work said it shot as well as any reliable semi rimfire.

How does it compare to the Savage? I have only heard good reviews on it.

I would go with the Savage if ya must have a semi. More money but looks better by far. Caught an online review on the Rossi. Guy complained about the trigger and those magazines look pretty bad. Not a fan of the matte dull finish either. Overall happy with the Ruger American in bolt. Glossy bluing and stock at least not too cheap looking and feels more sturdy. Might want to consider the standard stock module as I did for LOP . Gives another 1 1/4 inch on the Compact. Like I said makes for a good woods varmint rifle.

I had looked at these Rossi's over a year ago when they first came in, and again friday evening. I remember now why I didn't get one a year ago. They are sort of a youth sized gun as the length of pull is somewhat short and looking at it against other 22 rifles it just appears to have a short stock.

Thanks. I have only had good reviews on the Savage and I have them in 17 HMR and 17 WSM bolt guns, both are tack drivers. I just have always like the 22 mag and wanted a semi-auto. I ruined it when I bought a Ruger Precision Rimfire in 22 mag, probably the most accurate gun I own, one hole groups. I took it coyote hunting last month but did not get a chance.

I just like the 22 mag. In a survival situation you could take anything from deer down with one. I read an article by one of the gun writers a few years ago. He was in Argentina or Brazil of some place in South America . I think he went to hunt birds. Anyway, he was allowed to hunt the place and went for a hike in the hills and borrowed a lever action Winchester in 22 mag for small game. Along the way he encountered a cougar and killed it with one shot. And my limited experience with it suggests it is will kill pretty well. I met an old native American man once who said he had killed over 100 deer with his Marlin bolt action 22 mag, and I have zero doubt it was true.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. If I go that way, I will take a second look at the Savage.

Might be a good choice in my opinion. It is suppose to function with different brands and bullet grains I read in a review. Recall that article you mentioned. Author was Rick Jamison. He took out some kind of cat I recall. Can't wait to get out there with my Ruger after deer season.

Your Ruger American is supposed to be the same action as the one I have on the Rimfire Precision in 22 mag.
As stated above, mine shoot one hole groups, well under 1 inch at 88 yards, and inside 1/4 inch at 25. I really want to see what it can do at maybe 150 yards, about as far as I would want to shoot a coyote with it. I put a 4 x 16 target scope on it, so I can shoot at tiny stuff. LOL

I got my Henry 22 mag Golden boy out of the safe today also. Need to take both of them to the range. Sure enjoy shooting the 22 mag.

I don't have a Savage to compare it with, I wish some Savage A 22 Magnums were available I do like the Ruger style Rotary 10 round mag in the Savage A22m 22WMR Rifle. But for $273.00 out the door is not a bad price I am very happy with the accuracy of this Rossi RS-22 M I found the .22 WMR CCI 40 grain HP ammo to be extremely accurate at 100 yards.

10 Shots into one hole at 100 Yards with the .22wmr CCI 40 hp ammo fired on a USARMY 25 meter Iron Sight Battle Sight zero target The group is under one Inch at 100 Yards " SHOT FROM A SHOOTING VICE "! a Cauldwell Precision turret Tripod.
.

Are Rossi RS22 any good?

As for absolute accuracy, the Rossi has proven generally accurate. At 25 yards, the Rossi is good for shoulder shots on game, and headshots (perhaps with optics). With the standard iron shots, the rifle has exhibited four-inch groups at 50 yards.
