It captures crisp images at every f-stop, has a wide maximum aperture for shooting in low-light and capturing photos with a shallow depth of field, and comes in at a much lower price than alternatives from Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and Sony.
What is a 35mm 1.4 good for?It's great for any photographer who needs a fast 35mm lens for a full-frame camera, such as for weddings, events, and portraits. It's also a really great lens equivalent of 50mm on a crop sensor, but you can save even more money buying a DX 35mm lens for crop bodies.
Is the Sigma 35mm 1.4 sharp?Both E-mount and L-mount versions of the Sigma 35mm F1. 4 are very sharp lenses, and in most respects can deliver great image quality even when shooting wide-open. Although there are issues with ghosting and cat's eye, in many situations you'll be able to work around these.
Does the Sigma 35mm 1.4 have image stabilization?Image Stabilization
The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art DG HSM (B&H, Amazon) lens doesn't have OS. This is not a huge disappointment for a normal focal length lens. Still, not having image stabilization makes this lens a hard choice for run and gun shoots.
