JBL Flip 5 vs Sony XB23 Reddit

JBL Flip 5 vs Sony XB23 Reddit

Hi, i want to buy a bluetooth speaker and im left with 2 options, Sony SRS-XB23 and JBL Flip 5. I know both of their specs and i know their pros and cons(battery life, bluetooth 5.0 at sony etc.). I think i will be happy with both of them but i really need to know, if you have one of these, what should i buy? Is the EXTRA-BASS in Sony really that extra and the battery life really sucks or not, or is the 1 transducer Flip 5 actually sounds good or not? Also I have to add that I mostly listen to hip-hop-rap and EDM so i really need a " kinda bass-heavy but mostly bass-satisfying" speaker. And I know that I'm gonna listen that probably around %80 volume most of the time so you can do the math when it comes to the battery life.

JBL Flip 5 vs Sony XB23 Reddit

Hi all, I am debating between these two speakers. For those who have owned both of them, which one do you recommend?

level 1

XB23 is bit more bass heavy. Flip 5 is more versatile about hitting midrange mid bass low bass.

The UE products do good job with the mid range sound as well.

level 2

Thanks! I love the wonderboom but i dont like that it doesnt have USB C.

I think i might check out the xb23 and the flip 5 and keep the one I like best.

level 1

The sony is a better speaker as it sounds more balanced and it has more features and a better app and a eq to change how it sounds and it does get louder then the flip 5 and it have much better interment separation and sound stage sense it have duel drivers vs the flip 5 only have one and if you have an iPhone the xb23 have amazing battery life but if you use a android and in ldac as it will suck up the battery fast and the xb23 is also more durable

level 1

JBL Flip 5 is Single Driver MONO Garbage. Get a Dual Driver STEREO Speaker! And also with USB-C!

level 2

I actually don't mind mono speakers for something small. I find no benefit in stereo speakers when the drivers are literally like 3cm apart from each other. I would have to put to speaker to my head to hear the stereo sound.

Both have USB C as well.

i'm currently looking for a bluetooth speaker to use as my PC speakers for music and movies, i came across these deals and I'm just wondering which of these is the best?

Flip 5: $130 CAD (at first i considered the flip essential but this is the same price as the sony anyway)

Bose colour 2: $99 CAD (lightning deal)

Sony SRS-XB23: $125 CAD

Flip Essential is $99 CAD if you think that ones best for the price

I'm mainly just after decent sound (bass too) as well as an jack in case it dies and I want to keep using it with my PC. which should i go with?

More microphones result in better sound quality and enable the device to filter out background noise.

These microphones are designed to filter out background noise from the desired sound. Especially useful in noisy environments.

Signal-to-noise ratio is a measure that compares the level of a desired signal (meaningful information) to the level of background noise (unwanted signal), the bigger the less perceived noise.

What speakers are better JBL Flip 5?

In short, both the JBL Flip 5 and the JBL Flip 6 are great Bluetooth speakers for the price. The differences are minimal mostly noticeable if you compare them together, and you'll get a great sound from both. That being said, I prefer the Flip 6 for its more powerful sound and higher depth of customization options.

Is the JBL Flip 5 loud enough for a party?

It's never going to compete with a boombox but it's plenty loud enough for a small poolside party, picnic or listening to a podcast. With a fully charged battery, the Flip 5 can carry on pumping out tunes for up to 12 hours, depending on the volume level.
