Join Reddit r/GetMotivated level 1 The most I can find about Pamela Short is that she's published one book, Strategic One Night Stands, which has to do with "transparency with the Lord through prayer." I believe it's self-published. The quote itself shows up exactly once in a different image through a quick Google search. I assume she's the one writing her own quotes in books because who the hell else would. level 2
Ya don’t say. This quote was written in either an erotica or placed specifically in a spicy chapter of some random book “half-cup”, “onto my”, “gently”, “down”, “inched” “up and bit my left ear, then whispered” There’s like two levels of irony in here but I don’t care enough to figure it out, maybe someone in r/books can find out what this book is level 2 It reminded me of a Marcus Aurelius quote: The best revenge is to be unlike him who performed the injury. level 2 Pretty sure we have a good candidate here for who is being quoted: https://twitter.com/_pammy_ds_/status/1442292942085885957?lang=en Same quote, from September of last year. As for the book itself, I'm guessing an older Harlequin or something like that. It's obviously pulpy from what is able to be seen, the pages are yellowing, etc. Only thing is, that quote is all over several pictures if you google it - ready made to be posted to facebook newsfeeds and the like. All are attributed to "Pamela Short" but nothing I can find shows where the quote comes from. level 2 I, too, enjoy paraphrasing centuries-old adages and reattributing them to myself. level 1 False. Sometimes the best revenge is a glitter bomb. level 2 a cold glitter bomb according to the recipe I’ve heard level 2 A glitterbomb with fart spray is even better level 1 best revenge is flourishing in their absence. level 2 Frasier : You know the expression, "Living well is the best revenge"? Niles : It's a wonderful expression. I just don't know how true it is. You don't see it turning up in a lot of opera plots. "Ludwig, maddened by the poisoning of his entire family, wreaks vengeance on Gunther in the third act by living well." Frasier : All right, Niles. Niles : "Whereupon Woton, upon discovering his deception, wreaks vengeance on Gunther in the third act again by living even better than the Duke." Frasier : Oh, all right! level 2 The best revenge is to live well. I saw that on a bar wall in Minneapolis 30 years ago. Didn't stick with me till the divorce. Now I get it. Although, I have no clue if she knows. I'm to busy being happy. level 1 I won't become like those who hurt me, because I won't write in books. level 2 I don’t mind the annotating of books. But man is signing your own name after a quote in a book you didn’t write obnoxious. level 2 I confess that the biggest reason I buy used books is because I hope someone has written or annotated or underlined something. Idk. Feels like a little bonus to me. This signed quote is weird though. Is it even from the book?? About CommunityWelcome to /r/GetMotivated! We’re glad you made it.
