Appearance

Wang Ling’s looks are mostly a mystery because he can change his face on a whim based on the current trend to be average. He does have slightly handsome facial features, average build and a crew cut with his dead fish eyes. Wang Ling mostly doesn't pay much attention to his looks after he is reincarnated into Huaxia country. He kept his hair short and wear regular clothing that's rather average compared to the norm outfit. All he wants is keeping a low profile rather than gaining attention from others too much.

His fashion sense, it varies depending on his state of apperance. His appearance as the immortal emperor depends on which colour of his hair is. If he's using his dark immortal emperor state, then he wears a traditional ancient chinese clothing (Hanfu). His appearance on both immortal emperor state resembles a majestic king that exudes the wise and powerful domineering aura. He's far more handsome in his black immortal emperor state compared to the white immortal emperor state. More beautiful in his white emperor state, since his hair will be tied into a bun while the rest of his hair is in a long ponytail. Three or more locks of hair flow over his shoulders and it ends around his chest area.

Personality

Wang Ling is a non-talkative individual who‘s obsessed with being average and not standing out. He tries to avoid troublesome matters yet he still manages to get involved and has also secretly saved the world on numerous accounts. He is calm and collected and most of the time his actions have a plan behind them even if they a lot of time get in weird situations. He also lives for and loves his crispy noodles.

History

Wang Ling is stronger than Sun Wukong with his extremely high levels of power. That is also why he is called the King in Lurking. He can nearly one shot almost everyone as long as they aren't boundless (omnipotent) level that's coming from outside his verse, but he can easily decimate everyone within his verse including his own author (writer) and chief director of his verse animator. Wang Ling (Chinese:王令, Wáng lìng) is the male lead protagonist from The Daily Life of the Immortal King donghua series that was released in 2020, including the webnovel that was made by Kuxuan earlier in 2017.

Wang Ling is a reincarnated immortal emperor that is obsessed with a peaceful life. As a peaceful God, Wang Ling reincarnated into the modern era on a country named Huaxia, where cultivation is a common thing that everyone practices. He reincarnated without retaining most of his prior life memories, but he still knows the immense power and the controlling limits he holds, therefore he always tries to keep his power in check by asking his dad to make new fulu seals each time the previous one is no longer able to contain Wang Ling's immense power.

Wang Ling is the first cultivator that does many wonders. He is the number one practitioner in Huaxia, as well being the strongest one in the entire mortal world known as earth. At the age of six, he defeated the Demon King Swallow Sky Clam with ease just by using an upward kick.

As an omnipotent cultivation wizard, Wang Ling had no choice but to hide his power in order to keep a low profile since he lives among a group of ordinary cultivation students. Wang Ling doesn‘t care about money, magic, magic weapons, or reputation that any ordinary people on the mortal world pursue.

Wang Ling is able to keep a low profile thanks to the fulu seal placed on his neck, which suppresses his feelings/emotions. This is why Wang Ling acts so indifferent towards Sun Rong. The sniper, top killer, and the assassins of the shadow faction as well as the rival school championship students can stop Wang Ling from pursuing the crisp noodles. He loves Sun Rong.

The power that Wang Ling was born with truly surpasses that of any other individual living in Huaxiu and even the entire universe he inhabits. His power, if released, would destroy the world which is why he doesn't utilize his power nor does he mention it to anyone other than his family. His father crafted a fulu talisman that is capable of fully suppressing his immense powers as well as his emotions.

Not being able to feel emotions has led Wang Ling to lead a very lonely life. He was always left alone wherever he went because he doesn't possess any empathy towards others. This is why everyone he meets thinks he's a weirdo, and why nobody is willing to associate with him. Wang Ling sometimes wishes he didn't possess the immense power so that he could live a normal life. His lack of emotions has left him unable to respond to situations appropriately leading to his friends worrying as they believe he's a bit cowardly. His friends however accept him as he is. Wang Ling tries his best to go along with all the plans that his friends have.

Season 1 Summary:

The first season along with a little bit of expansion over his relations with his friends, however, does spark a romantic interest between Sun Rong and Wang Ling. Sun Rong, though she tends to be a bit annoying and drags Wang Ling wherever she wants, has a positive impact on him. In his heart, he feels affection for her but he cannot express it.

Wang Ling attends his high school, where he meets Tuntian Ha again. He tames him and makes him his friend. Tuntian Ha is renamed Froggy 2 and he becomes a friend of Wang Ling. His other friends, Chen Chao, who is a muscle head, Guo Hao, a game enthusiast and Sun Rong, romantic interest and descendent of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King are introduced eventually. Sun Rong is the successor of the Huaguo Water Curtain Group and is being targeted by the Shadow Stream Group. She is saved by Wang Ling whenever the Shadow Stream Group manages a sneaky attack.

Wang Ling is shown as an emotionless, detached boy throughout the season. At the end of ‘The Daily Life Of The Immortal King’ season one, the amulet is unveiled as the cause behind his uncharacteristic behavior. The amulet’s main use was to keep Wang Ling’s power in check and save the world from destruction. Wang Ling’s spiritual power could spill and put the world in danger, which is why his father devised the amulet to keep it from toppling. He had power, unlike anyone.

When the amulet broke in the second last episode, Wang Ling experienced a burst of emotions which made him unstable. In the second last episode, the leader of the Shadow Clan killed Sun Rong, this served as the last straw that broke the talisman. This incident called forth Wang Ling’s wrath and he unleashes many of his power as the immortal king but his power is greatly reduced to 1/10th due to him being on a rage state, making him unable to control his power well and use it's entire true potential. He tries to bring Sun Rong back and whilst doing so creates a second world. This incident boasts about the unlimited power Wang Ling has. He tries to experience emotions and normalcy in this second world. Yet, he is unable to bring back Sun Rong. In this second world, he searches for Sun Rong to no avail. The reason why Sun Rong does not exist in this second world is due to her soul being detached from her body. Her body also has no spiritual power to keep her soul intact. When Sun Rong’s soul arrives at the gates of the underworld, Yama notices that Sun Rong is the descendant of the omnipotent Monkey King, Sun Wukong. He immediately sends her back. Because the Yama King as the king of underworld should prioritize the safety of the three worlds (universe) by returning Sun Rong soul back to the mortal world so Wang Ling rage can be stopped by Sun Rong once for all before the three universe is destroyed. Sun Rong then wakes up to save Wang Ling from his rage and sets the world right with him.

The Daily Life Of The Immortal King first season ends with the world put back in its place and everything returning to normal. This is because while setting the world back to its original place, Wang Ling had to reverse time. Therefore, Sun Rong does remain alive, but she has no recollection of the events that transpire between her and Wang Ling. After she did, they returned to the competition they were in before all this took place.

Season 2 Summary:

At the beginning of the series, Wang tries to remain as emotionless as possible so that he could suppress his powers. If his emotions aren’t in his control, the world could come to an end. It is misinterpreted as an action dominant anime initially but later, the anime gradually turns out to be a romantic theme as Wang struggles with his newfound emotions for Sun-Rong. Wang Lin has an amazing force. It has a unique bloodstream. The principal character is very equipped for obliterating the world if he blows up. His capacities are essentially special. Lamentably, the person likes to sit in a corner, eating his number one noodles. This is all that Van Lyn requires for bliss. As legions of demons sweep over the earth, Wang Ling was mysteriously swept away by an unknown individual that appeared to be some form of Fae.
