The gold standard for AYTO, this season one perfect match has actually been married for over four years and has two children. Scarlet, 3, helped the couple welcome little sister, Serena, this past June. Oh, and they are actually the only perfect match (meaning they were paired by the experts FYI) that are still together post-show.

"As the only matched couple that has made it from Are You The One?, everyone's always asking what our secret is. Well here it is: Selflessness," Amber wrote on Instagram. "You do things to build each other up, not restrict or tear each other down. I always strive to help Ethan reach his potential - and I don't even hesitate to make sacrifices cause I know he'll do the same for me."

Sometimes love takes time and these two are the perfect example of that. Though they weren't super into each other while filming on season two, they connected once production wrapped…and revealed at the reunion they were dating and have been together ever since. In October 2020, the couple announced they were engaged. 

While they didn't compete on the same season, the two alums struck up a friendship and revealed they were dating in August 2018. 

"Secrets out.. I wanted to keep this one close to my heart where it was safe," Mikala wrote on Instagram. "But hiding my relationship for 8 months is long enough." The couple would later announce their engagement in February 2021. 

Mikala competed on season four and was in a fan-favorite pairing with Cameron after the two were the show's earlier confirmed perfect match ever. They split in early 2017.

Joe, meanwhile, appeared on season six, during which it was revealed he had once dated Taylor from season five. Yeah, this show is kind of incestuous, with the web getting even more tangled when we get to Joe's season six "perfect match" Uche…

The pair had an immediate and deep connection when they met in the AYTO season six house and struggled to stay away from each other after they were both devastated to learn from the truth booth that they were not a perfect match. But Uche and Clinton stayed together post-show and he asked her to officially be his girlfriend during the reunion. In June 2020, the couple announced they were engaged. By September 2021, they were officially husbands and wife. 

The season five pair were the second AYTO couple to welcome a child, with Gianna giving birth to their son August in August 2018. While they were a confirmed "no match" during the season, they reconnected at the reunion show taping in March 2017.

Gianna announced they were expecting their first child together on Valentine's Day in an Instagram post showing off their sonogram, writing, "Happy Valentine's Day! This came as a big surprise to us and am I nervous HELL YEA but I'm super super excited to grow this little bean into a cute lil mini me (or mini Hayden)."

However, the two announced in January 2019 that they had called it quits several months prior.

Hayden's perfect match Carolina also ended up finding her happily ever after with Cam, who was a contestant on season four.  

Let's get to Cam's perfect match, yeah? She quickly hit it off with Stephen during the show, but they had a rocky road to romance after learning they were a no-match early on in the process. They decided to date despite the experts' opinion and fans were shocked to learn Stephen had possibly cheated on Julia with Hannah, a season five cast member, during an after-show confrontation.

Julia called out Hannah for going on a trip to Las Vegas with Stephen, saying she broke up with him because of the rumors stemming from that meet-up.

"Why would he come to Vegas if he was in a relationship with you? Maybe you should ask him that," Hannah said. "You're coming at the wrong person." 

Still, they weathered the storm, and are currently together, busy promoting her clothing line.

The season six couple was never a confirmed a no-match during the process, but didn't end up being each other's perfect match either after dating on and off throughout the show. Still, it was revealed during the reunion that they were together..and that Kareem had cheated on Alivia with Zoe Pugh post-show. However, Alivia admitted to texting with Keith Klebacher after filming, too. (Neither Zoe or Keith were their respective perfect matches either BTW.)

While they split for a bit, they eventually ended up getting back together.

Though season five's Shannon had her heart broken when her cast became the first in AYTO history to not take home the $1 million prize (and she was partly blamed because she chose to stay with her no match Tyler O'Brien), she did end up finding love: She hooked up with season six's Anthony when they were introduced by Dimitri, also a season six cast member, who was trying to get with Shannon at the time.

"For whatever reason, it didn't work out," Dmitri said during the reunion. "But she has a great man in front of her right now, so I'm happy for them." Shannon and Anthony are still together and welcomed their first child together, Isabella, in October 2020.

There may be plenty of reality dating shows with wild premises out there, but MTV’s Are You the One? is in a class by itself.

At the beginning of each season, producers secretly pair contestants into couples based on the results from a matchmaking algorithm. The cast members then move in together and try to identify all of the perfect matches. If they succeed, they share a prize of $1 million, but each time they guess incorrectly, the prize money drops.

For the first seven seasons of the series, which debuted in January 2014, the potential matches were exclusively heterosexual. In season 8, however, the entire cast identified as sexually fluid, meaning that “perfect matches” were no longer limited to couples of the opposite sex. The change was lauded for improving inclusivity on the show — and the fact that it became exponentially harder was just an added bonus.

One of the show’s most successful love connections happened in season 1 between Amber Lee and Ethan Diamond. After they fell for each other during filming, Ethan proposed during the reunion special, which aired in March 2014. They tied the knot in September of that year and later welcomed daughters Scarlett and Serena.

Though Amber eventually found her husband on Are You the One?, she considered leaving the show at one point before filming was over. “At one point I pulled a producer aside and said I wanted to go home,” she wrote in a February 2021 essay for HuffPo. “I didn’t think I was cut out for reality TV and I felt completely over my head.”

After another producer encouraged her to stay, Amber had her first conversation with Ethan, and the rest is history. “We talked about everything from our family values to our hobbies, which were remarkably similar,” she recalled. “Honestly, we didn’t even have to say much ― the vibe and presence of Ethan was so warm and comforting that I immediately felt at home with him.”

While Amber and Ethan were a “perfect match,” some of the show’s other successful couples weren’t paired together by the matchmaking algorithm. Jenni Knapmiller and Curtis Hadzicki appeared on season 2 in 2014, but they were matched with John Moustis and Shelby Yardley, respectively.

After the cameras stopped rolling, however, Curtis and Jenni reconnected and started dating. The duo got engaged in October 2020. “I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to properly thank you for all that you do,” the California native wrote via Instagram at the time alongside a photo of himself sharing a kiss with his fiancée. “I love you forever.”

Amber and Ethan Diamond

The season 1 couple welcomed their first daughter, Scarlett, in December 2014. Their second daughter, Serena, arrived in June 2018. "I love our date nights together — to this day, it’s like we’re out on our first date every time!" Ethan wrote via Instagram in February 2022, sharing Valentine's Day wishes for his wife. "Cheers to a lifetime of Teenage Love and Laughter! You have helped my heart to grow 6 times its size since we first met! Jenni Knapmiller and Curtis Hadzicki

The duo met while filming season 2 of AYTO, which premiered in October 2014. They began dating in 2015 after reconnecting off camera. After the pair announced their engagement via Instagram in October 2020, Jenni tagged the official AYTO account in the comments, quipping: "I guess we owe you guys a shout out for putting us in the same room!"

Uche Nwosu and Clinton Moxam

Uche and Clinton met in June 2017 while filming AYTO season 6, which premiered in September of that year. The algorithm didn't think they were a perfect match, but computers aren't always right — the pair got engaged in June 2020 and tied the knot in September 2021. "We met on a reality TV show and although unconventional, it’s our love story and we wouldn’t change it for the world," the couple told Brides at the time.

Mikala Thomas and Joe Torgerson

Mikala appeared on season 4 of AYTO, which aired in 2016. She briefly dated her perfect match, Cameron Kolbo, but they split in 2017. Joe, for his part, starred in AYTO season 6 in 2017, and he later appeared on the inaugural season of Ex on the Beach. Mikala and Joe confirmed their romance in August 2018 after months of denying rumors about their relationship status. The twosome got engaged in February 2021. "You’re stuck with me now," Joe joked via Instagram after announcing the news.

Carolina Duarte and Cam Bruckman

Cam appeared on season 4 of AYTO, while Carolina starred in season 5 as well as the spinoff Are You the One? Second Chances, which featured cast members from previous seasons. The duo connected after filming and got engaged in September 2019. The pair, who tied the knot in July 2021, announced in January 2022 that they're expecting their first child.

Tomas and Cali met during season 7, a.k.a. Are You the One? Season of Fate, which aired in 2018. They weren't a perfect match, but they got engaged in November 2021 and are set to wed in June 2022.

Shannon appeared on season 5 of AYTO, while Anthony starred in season 6. The duo connected during the third season of Ex on the Beach, which aired in 2019. The off-and-on pair welcomed daughter Isabella in October 2020. In January 2022, Shannon announced that she is expecting her second child.
